GoCentral Pilot Ending (Back-up Your Files)

Thank you for your participation in our pilot of the GoCentral online communication and collaboration network. This pilot has allowed us to identify specific institutional requirements for such a tool; however, because the GoingOn platform that runs GoCentral has ceased development, we will be completing our pilot by the end of the academic year and investigating alternative enterprise collaboration tools to meet our needs.

Before Friday 5/24, please download from your GoCentral groups any files or content for which you need a back-up. We will endeavor to save an archive of the site data for emergency recovery only. Although the site may continue to be active beyond that date, access to your content is not guaranteed.

What Can You Do In The Network?

Create groups for sharing resources, collaborating & communicating and invite others to participate.

Discover and connect with colleagues, cohorts, and mentors.

Join groups and subscribe to feeds without the frustration of managing endless email threads and lost attachments.

Broadcast messages & newsletters to users
without administrative overhead and annoying “reply all” syndrome.

Update your academic identity.
Access your Personal Commons for activity streams of everything going on across your groups, campus and broader academic life.

How Does it Work?

At the most general level, users can

Build" and “Participate.”

Users can build by creating new groups and adding members to those groups on the network.  All users can create a "conversation" that allows immediate collaboration and a simple "work space" with other users.  Users can also request authorization to create more structured "communities" and the  ability to "broadcast" to large groups through "channels.   All users can participate by interacting within the various groups.
